High School - Ceramic Murals
In this unit, students explored the theme of “public art” through ceramic murals. Drawing inspiration from contemporary mural artists, the class discussed how they could send a message and impact the atmosphere of their school through their sculptures. They reflected on how the artistic choices they made throughout the artmaking process impacted how viewers experienced their artwork. They participated in class discussions, brainstorming, materials demos, and critiques to reflect and collaborate throughout the process.
